Your Role:

The Maintenance Technician 1 at MilliporeSigma supports maintenance activities at the Sheboygan Falls site. Responsibilities include repairing equipment, facilities, and utility systems, and completing corrective and preventive maintenance work orders. The technician will also perform predictive maintenance to enhance equipment reliability and lifespan. Daily tasks include:

  • Troubleshooting controls, VFDs, analytical equipment, and instrumentation
  • Installing and maintaining electrical power and control circuits
  • Operating, troubleshooting, and repairing boilers, chillers, HVAC, and air handling systems
  • Repairing metal, glass, and glass-lined equipment
  • Maintaining and repairing EHS equipment and systems
  • Using PC software and applications (CMMS, web browsers, Word, Excel, email)
  • Operating industrial vehicles such as forklifts and manlifts
  • Reading and understanding drawings, schematics, gauges, and units of measure
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and shop tools
  • Using precision measuring equipment
  • Identifying parts needed for repairs
  • Making decisions and resolving problems, analyzing alternatives, evaluating risks
  • Generating process improvement solutions
  • Directing contractors and technicians in work completion
  • Participation in weekend shifts, on-call programs, and after-hours duties
  • Engagement in 6S and shop organization activities
  • Conducting instrument calibrations and predictive maintenance tasks
  • Performing work-related travel as needed
  • Following all safety rules, including confined space entry, hot works, and line entry
  • Reporting unsafe work conditions to management
  • Shift: 2nd shift - 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, M-F
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, or related discipline
  • Certifications in refrigerant appliances and HVAC controls
  • Understanding of materials of construction and chemical compatibility
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Good documentation practices in CMMS
