Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support equipment upkeep on the production floor. You will perform basic maintenance tasks and follow safety procedures to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in maintenance or technical role.
• High School diploma or GED required; technical certifications are a plus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn more advanced systems.
• Basic understanding of computers and iPad software.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Assist in the repair and maintenance of production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, under the guidance of more experienced team members.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating machinery, cleaning equipment, and replacing minor parts as directed.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Use basic troubleshooting skills and diagnostic tools to identify and address simple mechanical issues, escalating more complex problems to senior mechanics.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and assist in preparing reports to track equipment condition and repairs performed.
• Learning & Development: Continuously develop technical skills through on-the-job training and formal training programs. Seek guidance from senior mechanics to enhance knowledge and performance.

What You’ll Bring:

Experience:

• 0-2 years of experience in a maintenance or technical role.
• Experience with basic hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Technical certifications or training in mechanical, electrical, or related fields is a plus.

Skills:
