Job summary

Legends Global, at Mohegan Arena, seeks a Maintenance Technician to maintain, monitor, and control facility systems during events and non-event days. The role covers boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, IT/AV, and heavy equipment operation.

The technician will perform preventative maintenance, respond to malfunctions, and assist with ice surface upkeep and event setups, while adhering to safety codes and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance; or trade school diploma a plus.
• EPA universal refrigerant certification preferred.
• Must have valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair building systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and some IT/AV.
• Maintain building structure and equipment, including food service equipment and various vehicles (e.g., Zamboni, forklifts).
• Operate arena equipment (e.g., Zamboni, forklift, pickup, scissor lift, tractor, power/tools).
• Regularly inspect systems to detect malfunctions and implement corrective actions.

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician

COMPANY: Legends Global

DEPARTMENT: Operations

FACILITY: Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza

REPORTS TO: Facility Maintenance Manager

FLSA: Hourly/Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

This position maintains, monitors and controls Mohegan Arena facilities in an efficient manner during events and on non-event days by performing highly diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the facility.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair building operating systems including boilers, chillers, air handlers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and some IT and audio visual


• Maintain the building structure and equipment, including food service equipment and various vehicles (i.e., Zamboni, forklifts, etc.)


• Operate Mohegan Arena equipment including, but not limited to, Zamboni, forklift, pickup truck, scissor lift, tractor, power tools, hand tools, etc.


• Inspect systems throughout facility regularly in an organized manner to detect malfunctions or breakdowns and implement corrective actions and solutions.


• Anticipate potential malfunctions or breakdowns and takes appropriate action to prevent or minimize curtailment of services


• Assist with maintaining and resurfacing the ice floor pursuant to American Hockey League standards


• Assist with snow/grass removal as needed


• Fully comprehend the technical operations of all show related equipment in Mohegan Arena including, but not limited to, scoreboards, lighting, intercom, and sound systems


• Follow procedures for use of Work Orders and ASM Maintenance Manager Systems (ALTUM)


• Assist in setup and break down of events at Mohegan Arena as needed


• Serve as Tech on Duty as scheduled


• Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes


• Provide assistance to the Director of Operations as needed


• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed


• Perform other tasks as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required


• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance; or a trade school diploma a plus


• EPA universal refrigerant certification preferred


• Must have a valid Pennsylvania vehicle driver's license


• Must possess a demonstrated knowledge of various technical areas including masonry, welding, plumbing, and basic carpentry


• Must possess a demonstrated technical knowledge of various tools and equipment needed to perform tasks in these areas


• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.


• Must possess the ability to access all areas of Mohegan Arena; must possess the ability to perform physical labor


• Involves walking, standing (for long periods), bending, lifting (50-75 pounds) stooping and climbing, and operating heavy equipment
