Job summary

Hyatt Regency Westlake is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to ensure the hotel's rooms, facilities, and public spaces operate at peak performance. You will perform routine repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and other equipment, documenting work and maintaining safety procedures.

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on maintenance or repair experience in a hotel or similar environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or coursework in general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel, pool, and surrounding area, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC functions, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Respond to guest requests for service according to company policy. Keep records of rooms completed.
• Program phone equipment according to hotel needs.
• Observe equipment and utility meter readings on a daily basis.
• Stay accessible to Front Desk and Chief Engineer.
• Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.
• Ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
• Learn emergency procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on maintenance or repair experience in a hotel, commercial building, or similar environment.

Experience With

• Routine upkeep of hotel facilities, pool areas, and public spaces.
• Monitoring daily equipment operations and utility meter readings.
• Programming and maintaining hotel systems.
• Managing small inventories of tools and maintenance parts.
• Documenting completed repairs and guest service tasks.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or coursework in general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields is a plus.
