Job summary

LATICRETE International is a global manufacturer of tile and stone installation systems, seeking a Maintenance Technician in West Palm Beach, FL. You will help with equipment installation, start-up and preventative maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1 year of manufacturing maintenance experience, and strong English with basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good English language skills (verbal and written); basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Occasional travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to keep equipment reliable.
  • Install, repair, and maintain machinery; replace defective parts; work to OEM standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and pneumatic issues on production equipment.
  • Log all work in the Company CMMS; communicate with maintenance and production; keep area clean.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician provides expertise for equipment installation, start-up and maintenance of plant equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as necessary.

  • Preventative Maintenance (50%) Perform routine tasks such as greasing bearings, changing belts, changing oil, performing inspections, cleaning equipment, etc. to maintain equipment reliability. Support production workers during routine preventative maintenance activities; (TPM).
  • Equipment Repair (40%) Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. Dismantle machinery to remove or replace defective parts. Optimize use of maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies needed to repair equipment to OEM standards. Repair facility and building items as needed.
  • Equipment Troubleshooting (5%) Identify complex electrical, mechanical and pneumatic problems on production machinery and facility equipment. Locates sources of problems by observing machinery in operation. Utilize tools to isolate malfunctioning equipment (ex. Multimeter, tachometer, callipers, etc.)
  • Administrative (5%) Log all work performed into the Company CMMS. Complete end of shift reports communicating between maintenance and production departments. Order replacement parts for stock or parts for repair. Performing housekeeping, making sure area is clean at all times.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Specialized Skills and Experience:

Good English language skills both verbal and written (Spanish speaking a plus). Good computer skills including Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Travel Requirement:

Occasional travel as required.

Physical Requirements:

Must pass pre-employment physical. Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds. Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds. Stand: Must be able to stand 80% - 85% of the day. Sitting: Must be able to sit 25% of the day. Twisting/Bending: Must be able to twist/bend 75% of the day. Squatting, Climbing and/or Crawling: Must be able to squat/climb/crawl 25% of the day. Able to work on heights, climb several flights of stairs (over 5 stories) daily if required.
