Job summary

LATICRETE International, a global leader in tile and stone installation systems, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the first shift. The role focuses on equipment start-up, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, performing TPM tasks, and documenting work in the CMMS. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, with good English

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Good English language skills both verbal and written; basic computer literacy including MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment, grease bearings, change belts and fluids, and inspect machinery.
• Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment; dismantle and replace defective parts.
• Identify electrical, mechanical and pneumatic problems; use tools to isolate faults and support maintenance with OEM standards.
• Log work in the CMMS, complete shift end reports, and order replacement parts as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and assist with housekeeping as required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician provides expertise for equipment installation, start-up and maintenance of plant equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preventative Maintenance (50%): Perform routine tasks such as greasing bearings, changing belts, changing oil, performing inspections, cleaning equipment, etc. to maintain equipment reliability. Support production workers during routine preventative maintenance activities; (TPM).
• Equipment Repair (40%): Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. Dismantle machinery to remove or replace defective parts. Optimize use of maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies needed to repair equipment to OEM standards. Repair facility and building items as needed.
• Equipment Troubleshooting (5%): Identify complex electrical, mechanical and pneumatic problems on production machinery and facility equipment. Locates sources of problems by observing machinery in operation. Utilize tools to isolate malfunctioning equipment (ex. Multimeter, tachometer, callipers, etc.).
• Administrative (5%): Log all work performed into the Company CMMS. Complete end of shift reports communicating between maintenance and production departments. Order replacement parts for stock or parts for repair. Performing housekeeping, making sure area is clean at all times.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing environment.

• Good English language skills both verbal and written (Spanish speaking a plus).
• Good computer skills including Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Travel Requirement:

• Occasional travel as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must pass pre-employment physical.
• Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds.
• Stand: Must be able to stand 80% - 85% of the day.
• Sitting: Must be able to sit 25% of the day.
• Twisting/Bending: Must be able to twist/bend 75% of the day.
• Squatting, Climbing and/or Crawling: Must be able to squat/climb/crawl 25% of the day.
• Able to work on heights, climb several flights of stairs (over 5 stories) daily if required.
