Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle day-to-day mechanical and electrical issues in our production environment. You will troubleshoot basic PLC problems, support maintenance strategies, and collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure compliance with safety and food safety guidelines.

This role requires a strong problem-solving mindset, a willingness to work rotating shifts, and the ability to spend substantial time on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance related to mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting.
  • Forklift operator certification required within 30 days of start (internal training).
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and/or flexible hours to accommodate production demand.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as safety leader and prioritizes safety in all responsibilities.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining spare parts inventory for liquids department.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on all machines.
  • Work from task or project lists to complete Work Orders on established timelines.
  • Design and build items to improve processes and equipment.

  • Familiar with predictive maintenance (PdM) and preventative (PM) maintenance technologies.
  • Experience in Rapid Problem Solving and the use of RPS to facilitate investigations.
What We Want From You
  • Associates degree in related field is preferred
  • 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance related to mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting is required
  • A forklift operator certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of start. This will be trained and certified internally.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and/or flexible hours to accommodate production demand
Physical Requirements

This position requires employees to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and even sit for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Potential contact with chemicals and cleaning supplies, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds is a requirement. Some parts of this position would require the employee to work at heights as part of some tasks.
