Job summary

Beacon Management in Waynesboro, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Augusta Farms. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance to preserve the property's physical integrity and keep residents satisfied, tackling plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and locks as needed.

You will take part in 24‑hour emergency service on call, assist with make‑ready repairs, and help maintain curb appeal by grounds care and common area upkeep.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and locks.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Strong customer service and resident relations.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Handle service requests and complete repairs within 24 hours when possible.
• Participate in on-call rotation for 24-hour emergency maintenance.
• Perform floating duties as assigned.
• Maintain curb appeal and grounds including landscaping and snow removal.

The Maintenance Technician will perform all routine and preventative maintenance in order to maintain the physical integrity of the property.

Some Key Responsibilities

• Effectively handle service requests, correcting the situation within 24 hours when possible. Ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure 24 hour emergency maintenance service and response.
• Floating duties as assigned.
• Maintain the curb appeal of the community by picking up the grounds, removing snow and debris, and working on the landscaping and common area needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and locks.
• Current, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance – driving record must meet eligibility requirements.
• Customer service skills and the ability to develop a rapport with the residents and community staff.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
