Job summary

Beacon Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Woodland Gardens in Royal Oak, MI. The role supports the upkeep of community facilities, handling service requests and repairs to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include on-call emergency maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and lock work, and keeping common areas in good condition. Beacon Management offers comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and working with residents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop rapport with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Handle service requests and complete make-ready repairs on schedule.
• Participate in 24-hour emergency maintenance on-call rotation.
• Perform variety of tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and lock work.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal of the community, including snow removal and landscaping needs.

Some Key Responsibilities

• Effectively handle service requests, correcting the situation within 24 hours when possible. Ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure 24 hour emergency maintenance service and response.
• Floating duties as assigned.
• Maintain the curb appeal of the community by picking up the grounds, removing snow and debris, working on the landscaping and common area needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and locks.
• Current, Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance – driving record must meet eligibility requirements.
• Customer service skills and the ability to develop a rapport with the residents and community staff.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
