Job summary

Aalberts Ht is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to coordinate maintenance priorities, execute preventative programs, and manage heat treat equipment. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, adherence to safety, and the ability to work across shifts.

You will document daily activity, support fault analysis, and maintain tooling and supplies. The position offers on-site work in an industrial environment with opportunity for growth in a team-focused plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and operate a forklift.
• Basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and welding skills are expected.

Responsibilities

Description

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Coordinates maintenance priorities and schedules.

· Determines the implementation, and execution of preventative maintenance programs and emergency breakdowns.

· Maintains maintenance supplies, materials, and inventories.

· Maintains documentation of all daily maintenance activity.

· Answers heat treat equipment alarms when required.

· Assists the heat treat classification when required.

· Works various shifts if necessary and being "on-call" as required.

· Maintains overall organization and cleanliness of the maintenance department.

· Maintains a working knowledge of motor controls, switches, relays, flame safeties, and temperature controllers.

· Maintains effective use of both equipment and time to achieve maximum productivity.

· Maintains a working knowledge of chains, sprockets, belts, reducers, motors, hydraulics, and air pneumatics.

· Maintains a working understanding of mechanical blueprints and schematic diagrams.

· Troubleshoots root cause analysis and repair of mechanical assemblies and power transmission devices.

· Performs the disassembly and rebuilding of a variety of mechanical assemblies.

· Maintains basic fabricating and plumbing skills.

· Maintains a thorough knowledge of combustion systems and burners.

· Performs power outage recovery of all furnaces and ovens.

· Maintains knowledge of operation of all furnace equipment, controls, and systems.

· Performs safe correction of furnace problems such jammed doors, carriages, etc.

· Responsible for startup and shut down of all heat treat equipment.

Must have completed training and OJT for Maintenance.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS / ABILITIES:

· Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

· Must possess good math skills.

· Ability to follow complex, written instructions.

· Must be able to drive a forklift and pass skills test.

· Must maintain a basic understanding of OSHA regulations and effective use of PPE.

· Basic electrical and mechanical trouble shooting skills.

· Basic welding skills.

· Demonstrated agility to perform in confined and high locations.

· Above average organizational skills.

· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

· Capable of working flexible hours, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or G.E.D.

· At least 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
