Job summary

ALPLA is seeking a Maintenance Technician at our Vandalia, OH facility. The role focuses on installing and maintaining proprietary ALPLA equipment, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensuring optimal machinery performance.

The ideal candidate has technical training, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read blueprints and work with hydraulics/pneumatics. This on-site position offers growth opportunities within a global packaging leader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical degree is preferred.
• Experience with industrial maintenance and safety standards is expected.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with programmable controllers and industrial controls.

• Install and set up ALPLA equipment; perform preventative maintenance.
• Conduct predictive maintenance and monitor equipment health.

What Will You Enjoy Doing

Equipment installation and preventative maintenance

• Set up proprietary ALPLA equipment
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal functionality and prolong equipment lifespan.
• Perform adjustments to machinery as needed to enhance performance and accommodate specific production requirements.

Perform predictive maintenance

• Utilize predictive maintenance methodologies, such as condition monitoring and diagnostic tools, to identify potential issues before they lead to downtime or production disruptions.
• Employ specialized technical knowledge to perform predictive maintenance tasks, including assessing equipment health.

Troubleshooting and repairs

• Diagnose technical problems and malfunctions in molding machines using a systematic approach to identify root causes accurately.

What Makes You Great

• Performing a basic-skilled level of maintenance activities sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job listed above successfully
• Min High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience at ALPLA or similar industrial
• Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance Safety
• Ability to read basic blueprints and schematics
• Familiarity with power transmission systems and industrial controls
• Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience with programmable controllers
• Knowledge of occupational math skills for measurements and calculations
• Problem-solving and team collaboration capabilities
