Job summary

Sunset Farm Foods, Inc. in Valdosta, GA is expanding its Maintenance team. We seek hands-on technicians to keep equipment running and the plant safe. Electrical and ammonia refrigeration experience is a big plus; overtime and weekend work may be required.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, inspect compressors and motor operations, and update maintenance records daily. Join a family-owned, century-long plant with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial mechanic experience; food industry is a plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves and conveyors.
• Familiar with 3-phase/120V systems and PLC troubleshooting.
• Comfort reading blueprints and electrical schematics; owns tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Inspect compressors, electrical connections, and motor operations.
• Test and repair equipment with appropriate tools.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and checklists.
• Work safely and follow plant policies and regulations.

Sunset Farm Foods, Inc. is a fourth-generation, family-owned meat processing and sausage company in Valdosta, Georgia, in business since 1918. We're growing our Maintenance team and looking for hands-on, dependable technicians who can keep our equipment running and our plant safe. Electrical and ammonia refrigeration experience is a big plus!

What You'll Do

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
• Inspect compressors, electrical connections, and motor operations.
• Test and repair equipment using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing tools.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and complete daily/weekly/monthly checklists.
• Work safely and follow all plant policies and regulations.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of industrial mechanic experience (food industry a plus).
• Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and conveyors.
• Familiarity with 3-phase/120V systems and PLC troubleshooting.
• Comfortable reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Own hand tools, and skilled with power tools and multi-meters.
• Electrical and/or ammonia refrigeration experience is a big plus!
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
