Diamond Animal Health is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the operation, repair, and installation of industrial equipment across our facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role ensures all systems are functioning properly to meet production demands. The ideal candidate is a strong multitasker who thrives both independently and in a team setting. This position includes rotating weekend on‑call coverage (Friday–Sunday every 5 weeks) and typically one on‑call holiday per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair facility equipment including air handlers, boilers, pumps, exhaust fans, bearings, and air compressors
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance tasks
- Initiate and complete work orders
- Maintain facility infrastructure such as steam, water, and air lines; perform groundskeeping, painting, and minor drywall repairs
Equipment Operation (25%)
- Operate central plant systems including refrigeration units, boilers, chillers, compressors, air dryers, cooling towers, HVAC systems, and exhaust fans
- Conduct daily inspections of boiler room and rooftop air handling equipment
Maintenance Projects (10%)
- Install new equipment and remove outdated systems
- Order parts and supplies for work orders and preventive maintenance
Other Duties (5%)
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Detail‑oriented and dependable
- Comfortable working independently or collaboratively
- Ability to define problems, gather data, and draw logical conclusions
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and instructions
- Sound judgment and common sense in executing tasks
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Stand, walk, sit, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Wear required PPE (hair, eye, face, foot protection, respirator)
- Bend, twist, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Good hand‑eye coordination and full range of arm motion
- Industrial maintenance setting with occasional high noise levels
