Job summary

Irca Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment in Union City, California. With a pay rate of $35 to $40 per hour, the successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on various mechanical systems.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment, and the ability to operate both hand and power tools. Strong computer skills and mechanical aptitude are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
• Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
• Has electrical competency for troubleshooting purposes and is familiar with electrical principles and components.
• Can use an electrical meter for testing purposes.
• Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
• Knowledgeable in piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps and motors, valves, etc.
• Comprehension of gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys.
• Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed.
• Can operate sit‑down forklift and/or articulating boom lift.
• Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
• Experience with Mill, Lathe, Band Saw, welding or a willingness to learn.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Complying with health and safety regulations.
• Performing general maintenance work on buildings assigned.
• Has strong computer skills. Send and receive emails, operate CMMS programs.
• Maintains a strong working relationship with all plant departments.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience.
• 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role. Preferred work experience in a food manufacturing environment. Welding and/or fabrication experience preferred.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Demonstrate Strong computer skills.
• Able to perform physical task and demonstrate physical dexterity.
• Ability to troubleshoot to identify and recommend solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and /or push, pull or move heavy machinery and/or drums.
• Ability to work up to a 12‑hour shift.

$35 - $40 an hour
