Job summary

IRCA Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and proactive equipment upgrades. The role supports lines across our food manufacturing facilities, ensuring safety and compliance with HACCP standards.

The candidate will document maintenance tasks, assist operators, and participate in root-cause analyses as needed. Ideal applicants will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, extensive experience in food manufacturing, and a willingness to work

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated work experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Technical school training or degree in maintenance.
• 10 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or related field.
• Two-year technical degree in a maintenance field.
• Welding and mechanical power transmission experience.
• Refrigeration and/or ammonia refrigeration experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret prints.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including completion of all related documentation.
• Repair malfunctioning equipment using a "final task" methodology.
• Plan projects, upgrade equipment and install new systems.
• Provide assistance to line and machine operators.
• Document essential information and conduct root cause analysis when needed.
• Affirm maintenance role in HACCP procedures with other departments.
• Adapt to changing work conditions and environments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including completion of all related documentation.


• Repairs malfunctioning equipment using a \"final task\" methodology.


• Project planning, equipment upgrades and modification, new installation.


• Provides assistance to line and machine operators.


• Provides essential documentation and completes research for root cause analysis when needed.


• Affirms maintenance role in the HACCP procedure along with all other departments.


• Able to assess and function effectively in an ever-changing environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Mechanical and electrical ability as defined.


• HS diploma or GED.


• Demonstrated work experience in a food manufacturing environment.


• Technical school training in the form of certified courses, technical degree or related experience.


• Ten years of experience as a full-time maintenance mechanic or in a related field.


• Able to maintain presence of mind und stressful conditions; accept change.


• Two-year technical degree in a maintenance related field.


• Food and maintenance related experience.


• Welding and mechanical power transmission.


• Facility and utility support equipment training or experience.


• Refrigeration and/or ammonia refrigeration experience or training.


• Ability to read and understand prints.


• Appropriate English language ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.


• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
