Job summary

Silgan Plastics in Union, MO is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the night shift to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, secondary systems, printers, and to perform adjustments and preventive maintenance. The role supports production and adheres to safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred candidates hold a degree in Industrial Technology or equivalent, with a high school diploma and experience in maintenance of production machinery or facility

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; experience in maintenance of production machinery or facility preferred.
• Preferred: Degree in Industrial Technology.
• Basic knowledge of extrusion, vacuum systems, materials transfer, and air systems.
• Commitment to safety and ability to read measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.
• Must be able to proficiently understand machines, conveyance equipment, and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to affect repairs.
• Consult OEM manuals to identify proper equipment specific procedures, parts identification, troubleshooting, etc.
• Perform adjustments and setups on a variety of equipment in support of production and in accordance with the company developed documents and all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report/ correct all unsafe working conditions.
• Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.
• Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance on equipment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
