Job summary

Silgan Plastic Food Containers Corporation in Maryland is seeking a Maintenance Technician for night shift to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, printers, and related systems, and to perform preventive maintenance. Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with maintenance experience on production machinery or facility.
• Preferred: Degree in Industrial Technology.
• Strong understanding of extrusion, vacuum, material transfer, and air systems; knowledge of safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently understand machines, conveyance equipment, and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions and to affect repairs.
• Troubleshoot and locate the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.
• Consult OEM manuals to identify proper equipment specific procedures, parts identification, troubleshooting, etc.
• Perform adjustments and setups on a variety of equipment in support of production and in accordance with the company documents and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report/correct unsafe conditions.
• Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.
• Perform all required preventive maintenance on equipment.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - NIGHT SHIFT

Summary Description: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment, secondary equipment, printers, etc. Also able to perform adjustments, preventative maintenance.

Major Responsibilities

• Proficiently understand machines, conveyance equipment, and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions and to affect repairs.
• Troubleshoot and locate the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.
• Consult OEM manuals to identify proper equipment specific procedures, parts identification, troubleshooting, etc.
• Perform adjustments and setups on a variety of equipment in support of production and in accordance with the company developed documents and all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report/correct all unsafe working conditions.
• Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.
• Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance on equipment.

Education

Preferred: Degree in Industrial technology.

Experience

Required: High School Diploma, experience in maintenance of production machinery or facility.

Skills
