Job summary

ALS USA Inc is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain building and equipment at our Twin Falls, Idaho facility. The role includes general maintenance tasks, stocking spare parts, logging service records, and responding to emergency calls.

Ideal candidates have a Grade 12 diploma, strong mechanical aptitude, and good communication skills. Plumbing, carpentry, drywall, or painting experience is a plus, as is forklift certification.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma required.
• Some experience in general repairs and operations preferred.
• Experience with plumbing, carpentry, drywall and/or painting is an asset.
• Experience with sample prep equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles and painting.
• Maintain adequate stock of equipment spare parts and keep maintenance logs.
• Assist with minor repairs including basic carpentry and plumbing.
• Assist in maintenance of lab equipment and routine maintenance of lab machinery.
• Be available for on-call projects and observe safety policies.
• Work with contractors and/or suppliers as needed.

Job description

As the Maintenance Technician this role will consist primarily of performing repairs and maintenance to the building and equipment.

Specific Responsibilities

• General building maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles and painting.
• General grounds keeping duties
• Maintain adequate stock of equipment spare parts
• Keep all maintenance log books and service records up to date
• Must be available as needed for emergency call‑outs
• Purchase and transport of building materials and maintenance supplies
• Assist with minor building repairs such as painting basic carpentry and basic plumbing , etc
• Assist in the maintenance of lab equipment i.e. changing air and water filters, cleaning scrubber nozzles and greasing bearings
• Routine maintenance and repairs on equipment such as heating and a/c units, blowers. Scrubbers, jaw crushers and ring mills\
• General building maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling titles and painting
• Light plumbing and carpentry work.
• Welding.
• Work with contractors and/or suppliers.
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Use correct methods in accordance with the stablished procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality
• Be available for on‑call projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma.
• Some experience in general repairs and operational is preferred
• Experience working with plumbing, carpentry, drywall and/or painting will be an asset
• Experience working with sample Prep equipment an asset
• Forklift certificate or experience will be considered an asset

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling and working with machines
• Comfortable in environments with high noise levels
• Ability to sit a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities Manual dexterity to perform repetitive task
