Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM) invites applications for a Maintenance Technician at Tubman House at Towson University in Towson, MD. This full-time position (40 hours weekly) includes overtime opportunities and requires hands-on maintenance of facilities and systems.

Responsibilities include responding to work orders, performing inspections, coordinating with the Facilities Director, and assisting with room setups and contractor escorts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of general maintenance experience.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills required.
• Must be a team player and able to work with residents and customers.
• Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• EPA Certification for HVAC Systems preferred (Universal Certificate).
• On-call rotation and after-hours duties may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Identify facility deficiencies and recommend remedies.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
• Work mandatory overtime as needed.
• Escort contractors on-site.
• Assist with room setups and furniture movement.
• Perform inspections when units are vacated.
• Conduct daily inspections and report findings to the Facilities Director.
• Complete preventative maintenance on time and request materials as needed.
• Coordinate with Facilities Director on progress and issues.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Tubman House at Towson University in Towson, MD
Reports to: Facilities Director
Salary: $26.00-$28.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

The Property Maintenance Technician position is full-time (40 hours per week) and at times has overtime hours. The main responsibilities of this position will be to work closely with other maintenance staff members to maintain daily maintenance operations and to assume responsibility for completing work orders and other projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responds to all maintenance requests/calls within a reasonable timeframe.
• Identifies facility deficiencies and recommends remedies.
• Participates in the after-hours on-call response rotation.
• Works mandatory overtime as needed.
• Provide escorts to contractors on-site.
• Assists with room set-ups and furniture movement.
• Performs inspections when units are vacated.
• Conducts daily general inspections of assigned building(s) and reports findings to theFacilities Director.
• Performs preventative maintenance assignments on time.
• Submits requests for proper material/supplies to complete repairs.
• Consults with the Facilities Director daily on progress and impending issues.
• Displays knowledge, skills, and quality workmanship always.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Be able to participate in an after-hours on-call duty rotation and respond to Towson University campus within 30-40 minutes.
