Job summary

Gebhart Holdings in Town of Huntington, NY, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Recycling division. The role covers welding, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

This is a full-time hourly position with opportunities for regular wage increases. Primary responsibilities include plant maintenance, preventative tasks on mobile equipment and furnaces, and timely completion of work orders.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
• Industrial maintenance, millwright, or welding experience in manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to follow safety rules and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance/Repair tasks at the plant.
• Preventative maintenance/repair tasks on mobile equipment.
• Preventive maintenance/repair tasks on furnaces, power supplies and plant operational equipment and processes.
• Repairs of unscheduled equipment issues causing downtime
• Completing work orders & PM paperwork
• Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position
• Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician will provide assistance in all aspects of maintenance such as welding, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Maintenance Supervisor

SUPERVISES:

N/A

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintenance/Repair tasks at the plant.
• Preventative maintenance/repair tasks on mobile equipment.
• Preventive maintenance/repair tasks on furnaces, power supplies and plant operational equipment and processes.
• Repairs of unscheduled equipment issues causing downtime

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
• Industrial maintenance or millwright or welding experience within other manufacturing facilities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs.
• Physical Requirements: Exerting up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
