Job summary

Yaklin Ford is seeking a Quick Lube Service Technician to perform basic maintenance and fluid checks, including oil changes and transmission fluid inspections. The role supports a Ford dealership environment focused on quality service for customers and the brand's long-standing reputation.

Responsibilities include testing systems, driving vehicles for test runs, and maintaining accuracy in diagnostics and repairs while using power and hand tools.

Qualifications

• Analytical and communication skills are required to diagnose issues and explain findings.
• Strong reading, computer and mathematics skills are needed to operate diagnostic tools.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Ford Certification is a plus and ASE certifications preferred.
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus.
• Basic automotive knowledge is essential.

• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem.
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage.
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks.

This role will mainly be focused on fluid checks and basic maintenance. Typically, a Quick Lube Service Technician will change a vehicle's oil, check the transmission fluid and other fluid levels, inspect various belts and filters, and check air levels and gauges.

Quick Lube Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment
• High school diploma or GED
• Technical degree preferred
• ASE certifications preferred
• Minimum of 1 year in service department
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude
