Job summary

Old Castle Building Envelope (OCBE) is seeking a Fabrication Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair on production equipment, diagnose issues, and support installations. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and offers a path for long-term growth within a leading industrial manufacturer.

You will work with CNC machines, punch presses, drill presses, motors, VFDs, and PLCs while prioritizing safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with CNC machines, fabrication equipment, welding and plasma cutting is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on CNC machines, punch and drill presses and other production equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems using drawings and manuals.
• Perform machine alignments, calibrations, testing and documentation of maintenance work.
• Install, wire, maintain and troubleshoot motors, relays, VFDs, PLCs and other electrical components.
• Assist with equipment installations and process improvements and support teammates with equipment issues.

What You'll Get to Do

The Fabrication Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing and documenting preventive maintenance and repairs on production and fabrication equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting equipment installations, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

This role is ideal for someone who is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively with little or no supervision. As a vital member of the Fabrication Maintenance Department, you'll have the opportunity to build a long-term career with an industry leader.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on CNC machines, punch presses, drill presses, and other production equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Perform machine alignments, calibrations, testing, and documentation following maintenance and repair activities.
• Install, wire, maintain, and troubleshoot motors, motor starters, relays, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, and other electrical components.
• Assist with equipment installations, facility maintenance, process improvements, and support team members with equipment-related issues as needed.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with electrical wiring, motors, motor starters, relays, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and PLCs.
• Experience with CNC machinery, fabrication equipment, welding, plumbing, oxy-acetylene cutting, plasma cutting, aluminum manufacturing environments, and / or a technical degree is a strong plus.
