Job summary

The Weir Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our St. Louis site.

You will perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including CNC machines, air compressors, forklifts, and building systems, with a focus on preventive maintenance and timely troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in industrial maintenance or mechanic role in a plant setting.
• Proven experience performing maintenance on CNC machines.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including 480V systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & repairs: perform quality, major, and preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Daily PM routines; roughly 50% time on preventive maintenance and 50% on repairs.
• Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, hydraulic/electrical issues (including 480V 3-phase), pneumatics, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Collaborate with a small maintenance team to improve processes, productivity, and quality; communicate with supervisors.

You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.**What you’ll do** ⦿ *Maintenance & Repairs:* Perform quality, major, and preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery inside the plant. Provide mechanical support for CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses) and building equipment including air compressors, forklifts, pallet jacks, lighting, etc.. Daily tasks will range from general building maintenance to programming CNC machines. ⦿ *Preventive Maintenance:* Conduct morning preventive maintenance (PM) routines on machines and building systems. Expect 50% of your time to be dedicated to prevenative maintenance and 50% to repairs. ⦿ *Troubleshooting:* Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns, hydraulic issues, electrical circuits (including 480V 3-phase motors), pneumatic systems, HVAC, and plumbing problems. ⦿ *Team Collaboration:* Work closely with a small maintenance team of three others, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement of processes, productivity, and quality. Maintain clear communication with supervisors about issues requiring attention and demonstrate the ability to independently handle assigned problems with trust and professionalism.⦿ *Safety First:* Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.**What you’ll bring****Must-haves:** ⦿ Mechanical aptitude with strong hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and repair. ⦿ Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an industrial maintenance or mechanic role within a plant setting. ⦿ Proven experience performing maintenance on CNC machines. ⦿ Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including familiarity with 480V electrical systems.**Nice-to-haves:** ⦿ Electrical skills with experience working on high voltage circuits (480V). ⦿ Experience with pipe fitting and rigging related to equipment installation or movement. ⦿ Familiarity with HVAC systems and pneumatic circuits. ⦿ Prior experience working in a collaborative, small team environment.**Why join Weir?** We live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
