Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician proactively maintains and repairs equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation. This role utilizes strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment issues, performs preventative maintenance tasks, and contributes to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems according to established schedules and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential equipment failures or safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance activities and inspections.
- Lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery and equipment as needed.
- Test and calibrate equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and wiring.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve problems.
- Document all repair activities and maintain accurate records.
- Install new machinery, equipment, and building systems according to specifications and safety standards.
- Perform equipment upgrades and modifications as required.
- Assist with facility renovations and construction projects.
- Ensure all installations and modifications meet regulatory requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in electrical systems (wiring, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Expertise in mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, gears, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
- Welding and fabrication skills (if applicable).
- Knowledge of plumbing systems.
- Experience with preventative maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools.
- Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems (if applicable).
- Experience with building maintenance.
- Experience with machine maintenance.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Previous experience maintaining machinery or similar manufacturing equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
- The role will be performed in a factory or manufacturing environment, requiring the operator to stand for extended periods and work with machinery. The operator must adhere to all company safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
