Job description

Westaff is hiring for a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician in South Windsor, CT!

Shift: Monday – Friday, 12am – 8am

Payrate: $28 – $32 an hour, depending on experience

Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility and production equipment.

• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, manuals, and drawings.

• Operate hand and power tools, aerial lifts, forklifts, electric meters, and other specialized equipment.

• Complete assigned work orders and document maintenance activities using our CMMS (Asset Essentials).

• Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless operations.

• Uphold safety standards, including OSHA regulations (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Confined Space).

• Maintain high-quality standards while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

• Be available for flexible scheduling and overtime as needed.

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of maintenance experience preferred (we are willing to train the right candidate).

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

• Computer literacy; CMMS experience is a plus.

• Previous exposure to spare parts inventory, firetube boilers, plumbing, welding, or electrical systems is a bonus.

• Ability to work safely in physically demanding environments (standing, kneeling, confined spaces, etc.).

• Willingness to become certified for confined space entry and respirator use.

• Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset.

• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
