How you will contribute

Valmont is seeking a motivated individual for the Maintenance Mechanic position in the Maintenance department, 1st Shift (7am-3pm). Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring machinery and equipment operate smoothly through preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machines
• Troubleshooting and repairing production machines promptly and safely
• Applying knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment
• Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Fabricating repair parts using shop instrumentation and equipment
• Assisting in installing new and used machinery, including plumbing, electrical, air, water, and gas connections
• Maintaining quality workmanship, cleanliness, and safety standards
• Performing additional duties as needed

What it takes

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus two years of trade school training or two years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic, or equivalent education and experience
• Skilled in metal fabrication, SMAW, and GMAW welding processes
• Flexible and responsive to production schedules and outages
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial setting
• Demonstrated mechanical abilities
• Good organizational and communication skills
