The Village At Summerville is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Maintenance Technician I to join our team to create a warm hospitality experience for all our residents, staff, and visitors. In this position, you will work with a passionate team to provide quality service throughout our community.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot fire alarm and sprinkler systems and respond to emergency calls.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including toilet plunging, snaking, or replacing plumbing parts and piping.
• Troubleshoot electrical and appliance problems; perform basic repairs such as resetting breakers, changing receptacles, and repairing lighting, fans, stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, disposals, etc.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of air conditioning systems, including changing filters and cleaning coils.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Move and assemble furniture.
• Repair drywall and paint.
• Set up landscape irrigation systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s license with a good driving record.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience in commercial facilities, schools, retirement communities, or hotels across disciplines such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, masonry, or general maintenance. HVAC certification is a plus.
• Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
