Job description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting complemented by solid mechanical skills. You will support the safe, reliable operation of large blanking presses and related systems by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs on both electrical and mechanical components.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair activities on production equipment in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues on machinery and facility systems, with a strong focus on effective fault finding.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical components such as gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and large blanking presses.
• Fabricate and rig parts, assemblies, and support structures as needed to maintain or improve equipment performance.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life, following established schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate with other technicians and production staff to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Use basic PLC troubleshooting skills as needed to support equipment diagnostics, particularly with Allen-Bradley PLC 5 systems (experience is a plus but not required).
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems in a heavy industrial setting.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to ensure accurate records and support continuous improvement.
• Support both mechanical-focused and multicraft maintenance needs depending on assignment and skill set.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to work with a mix of electrical and mechanical tasks, ideally with approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical focus.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills for industrial machinery and systems.
• Mechanical proficiency working on gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and large blanking presses.
• Ability to fabricate and rig components and assemblies safely and accurately.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Capability to handle hydraulics and pneumatics in a mechanical maintenance context.
• Comfort working in demanding industrial conditions and around heavy machinery.
• Ability to function as either a primarily mechanical technician or a multicraft technician, depending on role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus, especially with Allen-Bradley PLC 5 systems, though it is not strictly required.
• Strong technical aptitude with presses and related equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
