Job summary

J&D Management is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join our in-house property management team. You’ll handle apartment maintenance, building repairs, and facilities upkeep to keep residential and commercial spaces safe and functional.

This full-time role requires hands-on skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently, log work orders in CMMS, and provide prompt service to tenants. English communication is essential, Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a maintenance tech or apartment maintenance worker.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; ohmmeter experience a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude with proactive problem-solving.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety practices.
• Strong English communication skills (Spanish a plus).
• Reliable transportation and some tools required.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, ceiling fans).
• Handle basic plumbing (unclog drains, replace fixtures, repair toilet components).
• Conduct HVAC filter changes and troubleshoot issues.
• Carry out general building repairs (doors, hardware, smoke detectors, window screens, paint touch-ups, pressure washing).
• Read and interpret schematics and manuals for effective repairs.
• Log and update work orders in CMMS.
• Provide prompt, professional customer service to tenants.
• Work independently while adhering to daily schedules.
