  • Follow MSDS requirements and company safety policies; keep areas hazard-free.

We are looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance operations at Ellington Apartments, our multifamily community in San Antonio, Texas.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance and repair work to help keep the property safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position handles resident service requests, routine repairs, preventive maintenance, unit make-ready, and upkeep of property systems, amenities, and common areas.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot maintenance issues while working independently and as part of a team. Strong organization, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and resident service are essential to success in this role.

What You’ll Own
  • Complete resident maintenance requests within 24 hours when possible.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including plumbing leaks, electrical failures, HVAC malfunctions, fire, and flooding, while following safety protocols.
  • Perform routine inspections and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and other property systems.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance inspections of A/C units, roofs, stairways, parking areas, laundry facilities, and exterior lighting.
  • Help ensure walkways, stairwells, and common areas remain free of hazards.
  • Maintain and organize maintenance shops, tools, and supply storage areas.
  • Properly store chemicals according to manufacturer and company guidelines.
  • Maintain community amenities, including pools, playgrounds, clubhouses, and recreational areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in working order.
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of property grounds.
  • Assist in preparing vacant units and ensuring they are move-in ready.
  • Work with the maintenance team to complete at least five make-ready units per week.
  • Ensure appliances, fixtures, and utilities are functional before completing make-ready units.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including Freon replacement logs and pool logs as required.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory records for newly installed appliances and equipment.
  • Follow MSDS requirements and company safety policies.
  • Maintain courteous and professional relationships with residents, coworkers, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in maintenance, property management, or a related field.
  • HVAC experience or knowledge.
  • EPO experience or knowledge.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and property inspections.
  • Experience with apartment or residential unit make-ready.
  • Experience maintaining pools, community amenities, or property equipment.
  • Experience maintaining maintenance records, inventory, or regulatory logs.
