Job description

MMI Engineered Solutions, a leader in plastic injection molding, is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for our D-Shift (Midnights). Located in Saline, Michigan, MMI Engineered Solutions is an established but growing enterprise providing world-class engineering solutions for advanced composites and engineered resins across multiple industries. We engineer innovative ideas for today's complex design and manufacturing issues.

This position will report to the Maintenance Manager and is a vital part of the Maintenance Team. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player with proven knowledge of the repair and maintenance of plastic processing machines (injection/blow) and auxiliary equipment. This position would support our third shift (10pm-6:30am) operations.

Essential Functions

  • Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to diagnose and locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Dismantle machines to gain access for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on plastic processing machines and auxiliary equipment in compliance with schedules.
  • Test machines and equipment for proper functioning.
  • Accurately troubleshoot issues that arise during production and respond quickly.
  • Maintain, add, and update preventative maintenance schedules in IQMS.
  • Actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe working environment while improving plant operations.
  • Install/transfer equipment as assigned/necessary.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.
  • Regular & prompt attendance at work.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients & coworkers in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as required (coming in early, staying late, working weekends, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of practical, hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Associates Degree, Trade or Technical School or Equivalent preferred.
  • Processing/injection molding classes/certifications a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with injection molding equipment, assembly process, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems in injection molding manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working on robots & automation equipment.
  • Proven workload and time management skills with a history of completing projects accurately and on-time.
  • Comfortable working with the demands of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Robotics training a plus.
  • Injection Molding Certifications a plus.
