Job summary

Symphony of Linden, part of Symphony Care Network, is seeking a compassionate Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a skilled nursing and assisted living community. You will work under the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the building and grounds are safe, clean, and well maintained for residents and staff.

The role requires at least 2 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and on-call availability every other weekend.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance department/position.
• Experience in a healthcare facility would be advantageous but not required.
• A valid Driver's License is required.
• Must be reliable and prompt.
• Ability to work and be on-call every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the facility regularly to ensure grounds, facility and equipment meet policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the facility and equipment.
• Maintain grounds, facilities and equipment in a safe, efficient manner per standards and regulations.
• Assist in keeping the environment clean, comfortable and safe for residents and staff.
• Perform all-seasons maintenance on grounds with seasonal duties.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for taking direction from the Maintenance Supervisor in general maintenance and repair of the building and grounds. This position works directly with other members of the maintenance team to ensure the building is kept clean and free of hazards. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Functions

• Inspect the facility on a regular basis to ensure the grounds, facility and equipment are maintained according to the facility policies and procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plastering and mechanical repairs
• Maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe environment.
• All-seasons maintenance required on the grounds - different outside duties will be required given the season of the year.
