Job summary

Mutual Housing Management in Sacramento is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform janitorial tasks, preventative maintenance, repairs, and apartment turnovers. You will support a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and safety on-site while working with the site team.

The role requires at least 3 years in skilled apartment maintenance; onsite housing is provided; fluency in English; and the ability to work with flexibility and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years in skilled apartment maintenance work.
• Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions in English.
• Onsite housing is provided as part of this role.
• Collaborate effectively with site team and supervisor.
• Flexible to change work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner and cleans up after completion.
• Performs repairs on the property (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical); tools provided by MHM.
• Cleans apartments during turnover and maintains grounds and common areas.
• Provides on-call maintenance service and responds to emergencies as required.
• Sets up conference room and community spaces as needed; maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Advises Property Manager on property condition and budget considerations.
• Keeps residents informed of scheduling and progress of maintenance work.
• Monitors performance of site vendors for landscape and other maintenance issues.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Cornerstone -Sacramento, CA

Hours: Full Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Compensation: $23.47 - $25.53 per hour, depending on experience (+ 2 bed apartment)

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician completes janitorial tasks, preventative maintenance, repairs, and apartment turnovers. As a part of the site team, this position is responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment.

Responsibilities:

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical. MHM provides all tools needed for this position.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Maintain grounds and common areas, including lawns and flowerbeds, shrubbery, parking areas, and trash pickup.
• Provides on-call maintenance service, as directed. Responds to emergencies, as required.
• Sets up conference room and community space, as needed.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Advises Property Manager on the overall condition of the property.
• Keeps Property Manager and residents informed of scheduling and progress of maintenance work orders and scheduled physical improvements under tech’s purview.
• Monitors maintenance budget and recommend revisions to budgets and advise supervisor when there are budget concerns.
• Assist in monitoring the performance of site vendors for landscape maintenance and other maintenance issues.
• Respect the confidentiality of resident information.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3+ years in skilled apartment maintenance work required.
• Onsite housing is provided and required as part of this role.
• Take directions from the supervisor.
• Coach-ability: Being receptive to feedback, willing to learn, embracing continuous improvement, accepting accountability when appropriate.
• Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions in the English language.
• Work in a collaborative manner, as a part of the site team.
