Job summary

Mutual Housing Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at Cornerstone in Sacramento, CA. The role focuses on janitorial tasks, preventative maintenance, repairs, and apartment turnovers to keep our properties safe, clean, and welcoming for residents.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of skilled apartment maintenance experience, be able to follow directions in English, and work well with a site team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in skilled apartment maintenance work.
• Onsite housing is provided and required as part of this role.
• Read, write, and follow instructions in English.
• Work in a collaborative site-team environment.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders promptly and cleans up after completion.
• Performs repairs (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical) with tools provided.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process.
• Maintains grounds and common areas, including lawns and shrubbery.
• Provides on-call maintenance service and responds to emergencies as required.
• Keeps residents and Property Manager informed of scheduling and progress.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Cornerstone -Sacramento, CA

Hours: Full Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Compensation: $23.47 - $25.53 per hour, depending on experience (+ 2 bed apartment)

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician completes janitorial tasks, preventative maintenance, repairs, and apartment turnovers. As a part of the site team, this position is responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment.

Responsibilities:

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical. MHM provides all tools needed for this position.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Maintain grounds and common areas, including lawns and flowerbeds, shrubbery, parking areas, and trash pickup.
• Provides on-call maintenance service, as directed. Responds to emergencies, as required.
• Sets up conference room and community space, as needed.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Advises Property Manager on the overall condition of the property.
• Keeps Property Manager and residents informed of scheduling and progress of maintenance work orders and scheduled physical improvements under tech’s purview.
• Monitors maintenance budget and recommend revisions to budgets and advise supervisor when there are budget concerns.
• Assist in monitoring the performance of site vendors for landscape maintenance and other maintenance issues.
• Respect the confidentiality of resident information.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3+ years in skilled apartment maintenance work required.
• Onsite housing is provided and required as part of this role.
• Take directions from the supervisor.
• Coach-ability: Being receptive to feedback, willing to learn, embracing continuous improvement, accepting accountability when appropriate.
• Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions in the English language.
• Work in a collaborative manner, as a part of the site team.
• Flexible to change work schedules.
• Understand and commit to the mission and values of Mutual Housing.
• Wear a Mutual Housing Management uniform at all times when on duty.
• Learn how to input maintenance work orders and other information into computer programs.
