Ionbond in Rockaway, NJ is hiring a Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair equipment, maintain lines, and support plant uptime. You will work closely with a collaborative team across locations and receive training to strengthen vacuum technology and high-voltage handling skills.

You should bring electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge, a proactive maintenance mindset, and strong problem-solving abilities. The work schedule is typically Monday–Friday with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
• Associate’s degree or trade certification preferred; diploma/GED minimum.
• Experience with Vacuum Technology is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving; root cause analysis.
• Good communication with peers, management, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment, cleaning lines, and other plant machinery.
• Document and maintain all equipment modifications, maintenance histories, drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Troubleshoot vacuum systems with comfort around high-voltage components.
• Evaluate repair & maintenance needs and monitor uptime to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with 5S and safety regulations; participate in related tasks.
• Assist with travel to other U.S. centers and international sites as needed.

An associate’s degree/Certification in Engineering, Technical, or Trade education preferred; diploma/GED minimum required education. Experience with Vacuum Technology is preferred but not required. Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective repairs. Working knowledge of control systems, PLC controls. Able to work independently, is a self-starter, and is highly motivated to complete projects and meet deadlines. Possess good communication skills; clearly communicate with peers, management, and suppliers, both verbally and in email communication. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Compensation ranges from $32 to $38 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, and is paid bi-weekly. Available to work overtime and weekends as required.
