Qualifications

• At least 3 years of proven work experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.

• Certification as an Electrical Technician is a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Proficient in the National Electrical Code and local regulations.
• Basic knowledge in automation controls and PLC code.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Replace faulty electrical elements like motors, relays, and switches; set up sensing mechanisms using hand tools.
• Diagnose and replace malfunctioning electronic units such as printed circuit boards.
• Set up power supply, conduit, and wiring for equipment including programmable controllers.
• Test and validate a control system change before deployment.
• Maintain records of maintenance in Brightly asset management system.
• Provide technical support and training to operators for existing and new equipment.
• Carry out repairs to production equipment as required or directed.
• Maintain a safe and orderly production equipment area.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Electrical maintenance technician is responsible for carry out installations, maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and electronics features of industrial equipment and machines. Responsible to ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical machinery and systems. Work collaboratively in maintaining and implementing innovative control systems for different machinery applications in thermoplastic manufacturing. Drive strategic projects in keeping manufacturing reliable and efficient across traditional automation and newer data / AI-driven tools.

JOB DUTIES:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.

Perform replacement on diagnosed faulty electrical elements of machine including motors, relays, and switches; and set-up sensing mechanism, utilizing hand tools.

Carry out diagnosis and correct or replace malfunctioning electronic units like the printed circuit boards

Carry out diagnosis and ensure replacement of pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic components of equipment and machines which are faulty.

Set up power supply, conduit, and wiring for currently installed equipment and machines, including programmable controllers, while adhering to blueprints, electrical ethics, utilizing voltage tester and hand tools.

Testing and validating a control system change before full deployment.

Maintaining records of all maintenance and repair works on Brightly asset management system.

Build and implement routine and predictive maintenance schedules for electrical, automation and mechanical hardware to reduce downtime

Provide technical support and training to the operators / end-users for existing equipment and new equipment.

Make repairs to production equipment as required or directed.

Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.

Maintain a safe and orderly production equipment area.

All other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer.

SUCCESS METRICS:

Equipment uptime and downtime reduction

Successful commission of new equipment

Reduction in unplanned production stoppages

Accuracy of control system documentation

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 3 years of proven work experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude.

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an electrical apprenticeship is preferred. Certification as an Electrical Technician is a plus.

Excellent knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.

Proficient in the National Electrical Code and local regulations.

Basic knowledge in automation controls - ability to follow basic PLC code, ladder logic and sensor setups.

Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a self-starter attitude.

Ability to work under stress and ascend stairs and ladders.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact well with superiors and team members.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
