Job summary

Woodfin Heating, Inc. is seeking a Construction Technician to perform a range of maintenance, repair, and service tasks across multiple properties; duties include painting, caulking, wall repair, minor plumbing and electrical work, framing, sheetrock, and pressure washing.

The role requires comfort working at heights, tool safety awareness, and the ability to learn operating equipment such as a Boom Lift. Fluency in English is required, with full-time availability in Richmond, VA area.

Qualifications

• Previous painting, drywall, rough or trim carpentry/home building, framing, electrical, and/or plumbing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general building and property maintenance, service, and repair services supporting multiple company owned properties.
• Perform maintenance including painting, caulking, wall repair, minor plumbing, basic electrical work, framing, sheetrock, and pressure washing.
• Troubleshoot to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform a variety of general building and property maintenance, service, and repair services supporting multiple company owned properties.
• Perform a variety of maintenance services to include, but not limited to: painting, caulking, wall repair, minor plumbing work, basic electrical maintenance (replacing a ballast, replacing light fixtures, etc.), framing, sheetrock work, pressure washing, and more.
• Troubleshoot to identify potential root causes and develop effective solutions.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring

Previous painting, drywall, rough or trim carpentry/home building, framing, electrical, and/or plumbing experience is preferred.

• Must be comfortable performing duties from an elevated height on a ladder, lift, or roof top.
• Possess a strong understanding of the safe usage of hand and power tools.
• Able and willing to be trained on the proper and safeoperation of equipment as needed (e.g., Boom Lift).
• Fluent English-speaking and writing skills are required.

Driving Requirements

• Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Must have positive points on state driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
• Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
• All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
