Job summary

KETTLER is seeking a Lease-up Maintenance Technician for The Arbor at Halley Rise in Reston, VA. Join a team that maintains apartments and buildings, handles service requests, and supports turnover readiness to deliver quality living spaces.

Responsibilities include HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repairs, preventive maintenance, and on-call duties including nights and weekends. A valid driver’s license and near-location residence are required.

Qualifications

• EPA/CFC Type I & II preferred; must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of apartment/hotel/facilities maintenance experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Valid Driver’s License and reside within 30 minutes of the property.
• Strong customer service focus and timely responses to resident requests.
• On-call maintenance including nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
• Reliable transportation and ability to respond to emergencies.
• Must have a cell phone for on-call communications.
• Ability to use a computer and basic English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple residential service requests daily.
• Respond to maintenance requests in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair; troubleshoot and repair or escalate as needed.
• Participate in all maintenance projects.
• Prepare vacant units for market readiness through turnover repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all property systems.
• Repair property grounds, apartments and building exteriors.
• Provide courteous, responsive customer service to residents and colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

KETTLER currently has an opening for a Lease-up Maintenance Technician at The Arbor at Halley Rise located in Reston, Virginia. If you have a good work ethic, a passion for helping people, and want an opportunity to learn and grow, KETTLER is the place for you.

The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for general maintenance, repairs in apartments and buildings, and responding to service requests of residents.

Compensation: $25 per hour

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple residential service requests daily.
• Responding to resident requests for maintenance and service within the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair by troubleshooting the problem and taking appropriate action to repair and/or restore service within the quality and time standards established by the organization; escalates problem to supervisor or outside contractor as necessary.
• Participating in all maintenance projects.
• Prepare vacant units for market ready status through turn-over repairs and improvements.
• Preventive maintenance repair on all systems at the property.
• Performing general repair of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
• Demonstrating customer services skills by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, responding sensitively to complaints about maintenance services, and completing assigned work orders with efficiency and urgency.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1 year of apartment, hotel, or facilities maintenance experience with intermediate knowledge of HVAC, appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
• Valid Driver’s License and must live within 30 minutes of the property.
• Outstanding customer service and focus on providing residents with timely and accurate responses.
• Must be responsible for taking calls for after hour’s emergency maintenance; including nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
• Must have personal/reliable transportation to get to work in order to respond to on-call emergencies as they occur.
• Must carry a cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities.
