Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Red Oak, IA is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair and overhaul equipment across machining, electrical, plumbing and welding disciplines.

You will install and repair production equipment, set up machine tools, perform preventative maintenance, read blueprints, and follow LOTO, confined space and OSHA guidelines.

The role requires flexibility for overtime and weekend coverage and the ability to work with a team in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with a minimum of two years trade school or equivalent experience.
• Industrial experience in a similar industry preferred.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in basic mechanical or electrical skills.
• Excellent precision measuring ability.
• Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems.
• Understand practical aspects of preventative, predictive maintenance systems & proper lubrication selection & application.
• Able to read blueprints and plans for construction at plant level.
• Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office package.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to use all general mechanical hand tools and light power tools.
• Knowledge of light machine shop tools.
• Understanding of low pressure hydraulic, pneumatic, with the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Self-motivated.
• Detail oriented.

Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
3. Maintain production schedules.
4. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
5. Other duties may be assigned later.
