Job description

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the hands-on execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across the facility, grounds, equipment and infrastructure. This role ensures the reliable, safe and compliant operation of building systems and production support equipment to minimize downtime and strengthen manufacturing processes. This position plays a critical role in maintaining facility readiness, supporting production flow and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality systems requirements (AS9100 / ISO 9001). The Maintenance Technician collaborates with all departments including Facilities, Engineering, Quality and Production to bolster cohesion, increase equipment uptime, improve upon infrastructure and support continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems, equipment and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility systems to ensure reliable operation.
  • Respond promptly to equipment and facility failures to minimize downtime & support production continuity.
  • Execute scheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with established preventive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders & documentation to support compliance & traceability.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, environmental, and internal safety requirements.
  • Support compliance with AS9100/ISO9001, following procedures & maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Monitor facility systems and identify potential risks, failures, or improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in installation, setup, relocation, and validation of equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Support operation & reliability of utilities and environmental controls required for manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve equipment issues and support NPI and production needs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives to enhance uptime, efficiency, and cost performance.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Technical Competencies:Strong troubleshooting abilities involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems.
  • Ability to safely use multimeters, gauges, diagnostic equipment, and other maintenance test instruments.
  • Ability to read & interpret electrical schematics, tech drawings, equipment manuals & work instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial equipment maintenance, repairs, and equipment assembly.
  • Knowledge of compressed air systems, air compressors, regulators, manifolds, and pneumatic controls.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, utilities, overhead heating systems & environmental controls.
  • Basic carpentry, drywall, painting, and facility repair skills.
  • Experience supporting production support equipment, ovens, pressure systems, and manufacturing tooling preferred.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Facilities Maintenance, or related discipline preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred (maintenance, electrical, HVAC or related field.)
  • Experience utilizing CMMS, preventative maintenance programs, and maintenance documentation practices preferred.
  • Prefer 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction or facility based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments preferred (AS9100, ISO 9001, medical device, aerospace, defense, or similar industries).
  • Experience utilizing CMMS systems, preventive maintenance programs, and maintenance documentation practices preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision exercising judgment amid shifting priorities.
