Position Purpose

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. The Maintenance Technician assists the Maintenance Manager and Property Manager in all phases of physical maintenance, including property upkeep, expense control, and preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate will be an independent, self-starter with excellent groundskeeping and maintenance skills. Reliable transportation and insurance are required.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Regional Maintenance Manager and Property Manager on janitorial, groundskeeping, maintenance, and capital projects.
  • Perform grounds maintenance and general property upkeep.
  • Address maintenance needs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, snow removal, painting, and rehabbing homes.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage projects.
  • Manage watering systems and perform seasonal tasks like mowing, edging, blowing, and snow plowing.
  • Handle additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to work respectfully with diverse backgrounds.
  • 2-3 years of maintenance experience, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfort with technology and mobile apps for work tracking and communication.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexible schedule with weekend availability for emergencies.
  • Problem-solving skills for equipment and maintenance issues.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean background check.
  • On-call availability for emergencies.
