Job summary

American Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our apartment community well-maintained and residents served with friendly, professional care.

You will troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and more, perform preventative maintenance and property inspections, and participate in on-call rotation while keeping tools and work areas safe and organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• EPA Type I & II or Universal certification.
• 1–5 years of apartment or related maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Reliable, organized, and self‑motivated.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and more.
• Completing maintenance requests and vacant‑unit punch work.
• Performing preventative maintenance and property inspections.
• Providing friendly, professional service to residents.
