We are seeking Maintenance Technicians to support high-impact enhancement projects across our Fortune 10 client’s Data Centers in the Columbus area. Specifically, this initiative involves the replacement of HVAC filters in their critical facilities.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-driven professional with a passion for physical infrastructure, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful upgrades within world-class data centers—while gaining highly marketable experience in infrastructure delivery at scale.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in carpentry, mechanics, construction, HVAC, or general contracting are a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Proficient in using a tape measure to take precise measurements, including down to 1/16th of an inch.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated history of creating solutions based on technical documentation.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in conditions ranging from 90–120 degrees.
  • Comfortable working in small spaces, climbing ladders, and performing tasks at elevated heights.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability for quality and accuracy in their work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The replacement of HVAC air filters for data center facilities
  • Support technical site enhancements, environmental improvements, and physical layout adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain organized documentation and report accurate measurements, tasks, and configurations.
  • Enforce safe tool usage and promote team accountability regarding quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and manage tools and equipment responsibly.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Strictly commit to following and upholding all data center security protocols. You will be briefed on all security protocols and expectations daily.
  • Adhere rigorously to the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policy. Proper PPE will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own Composite Toe Shoes if you already own them.
  • Become Scissor Lift and High Fall Protection Certified– certification provided by Brooksource if not certified prior
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to unexpected "Blocked" and "Restricted" workdays dictated by the client due to major holidays or world events. These workdays will be communicated with as much notice as possible but will be unpaid.
  • Be part of an agile team that is not stationary and follows a schedule. The schedule is created based on allocated data centers and the work associated with each location. You will move from data center to data center according to the schedule, spending varying lengths of time at each site (e.g., one week at one data center, three days at another, and a week and a half at another). Efforts are made to limit same-day travel between locations.
  • Thrive in a physically demanding work environment with elevated temperatures (90–120 degrees), requiring:
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable movement up and down scissor lifts
  • Working in small, confined spaces as necessary to complete tasks.

IDEAL CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Carpenter apprentice or journeyman
  • Mechanics or general contracting
  • Construction or other technical trade professions

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Think critically and adapt solutions based on technical drawings.
  • Address coworker challenges respectfully and collaboratively.
  • Hold themselves and others accountable to the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
