Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Pittsburgh is seeking a Facilities Technician to assist the facilities manager with upkeep of equipment, buildings and grounds. You will perform cleaning, minor repairs, and inspections of electrical panels, and supervise contractors on site.

The role requires reading technical manuals, basic knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, and the ability to work at heights up to 40 feet. OSHA 10 certification is preferred and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

  • Requires basic knowledge of mechanical tools and familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, air compressors and electrical systems.
  • Must be able to read and work from technical manuals and drawings.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; physical stamina and dexterity; able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist facilities manager in upkeep of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities.
  • Perform cleaning and basic repairs (locks, walls, fixtures); inspect electrical panels for safety.
  • Supervise contractors on site; prepare reports in a timely manner.
  • Install, maintain and repair appliances and equipment; maintain outdoor lighting and grounds.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems; perform routine maintenance on HVAC, compressors, and mobile equipment.
  • Ensure safety systems (fire alarms) function properly; participate in renovations and project planning.

Job description

**POSITION SUMMARY:**This position is responsible for assisting the facilities manager in the upkeep and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities.**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:**Primary Responsibilities:Perform some cleaning activities as needed to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility;Address minor fixes, including repairing broken locks, repairing and painting walls and other basic skills;Inspect electrical panels and wiring to identify issues and ensure safety;Supervise contractors when on site;Complete reports in a timely manner;Install, maintain and repair appliances and equipment;Perform outdoor maintenance on lighting, parking lots and grounds;Replace light housings and electrical fixtures;Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems;Perform routine maintenance on compressors, HVAC, automated machinery and mobile equipment;Check the functionality of safety systems, including fire alarms;Collaborate with other team members and professionals during renovations;Create material lists and requisitions of upcoming projects and repairs;Attend online and offsite equipment and safety training as needed.ProMinent Expectations:Adhere to Company policies and procedures;Punctual attendance;Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner;Accomplish goals, meet deadlines and objectives;Support Client, Company and Team;Maintains company confidentiality;Other duties as required to attain company goals.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**Required:Basic knowledge of mechanical tools;Basic knowledge of any of the following: HVAC, plumbing, air compressors and electrical systems;Ability to use hand tools and meters effectively;Must be able to read and work from technical manuals and drawings;Good communication and interpersonal skills;Physical stamina and manual dexterity;Must be able to climb ladders and work comfortably at heights up to 40 feet;High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred:Graduate of a technical or vocational school/college;Completion of OSHA’s 10-hour general industry safety training;Drafting or welding experience;Small engine repair or hydraulics or pneumatics training;Manlift, Scissorlift and/or forklift operation.ProMinent prides itself on the quality of its employees and as such, candidates who receive a job offer will be required to successfully pass a drug test and a background check.You should be proficient in:OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)Maintenance and Repair SkillsEquipment Repair & Maintenance
