Job summary

Kenda Tires is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician in Graniteville, SC to keep facilities and machinery running safely and efficiently. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, maintaining documentation and coordinating with managers to minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on technical ability, safety awareness, and experience with welding, circuits, and tools. High school diploma and vocational training are required, with at least 5 years of maintenance experience.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of vocational or skilled trades program required.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular checks on buildings, grounds, and machinery to spot potential issues early.
  • Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
  • Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Diagnose and repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  • Log completed work orders, parts used, and equipment status using maintenance software or logs.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will work to keep the facility, machinery, and building systems running safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on technical skills and a commitment to workplace safety.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools
  • Familiarity with 110/208/220/480-volt circuits and wiring
  • Experience with welding and fabrication
  • Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Work is normally performed in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to repair components that are vertical, flat, or overhead
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials
