Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials, LLC is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment on the warehouse floor. The role involves direct work around heavy machinery and adherence to safety and Lean initiatives.

The position requires reading blueprints, good interpersonal communication, and a technical degree or certificate. Shift times vary with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts offered.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and technical aptitude required for industrial maintenance.
• Experience in industrial maintenance environment preferred (3-5 years).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/shop drawings.
• Safety mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and related problems and perform timely repairs.
• Establish maintenance frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance on all machinery.
• Perform facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
• Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install repaired or new components.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and repairs.
• Coordinate and recommend work-related contracts and services.
• Supervise outside contractors for mechanical/electrical repairs and maintenance.
• Participate in health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives.

This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Job Description Key Accountabilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs.
• Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on all machinery/equipment in the facility.
• Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
• Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services.
• Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
• Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements.

Shift Times: 1st shift: 6am-2pm 2nd shift: 2pm-10pm 3rd shift: 10pm-6am

Qualifications

• Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude
• 3-5 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
• College degree or certificate in a technical area or related field
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
