Job summary

Genacross Lutheran Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time, year-round role. The position pays $18-$20 per hour, based on experience.

You will perform general maintenance and repairs across housing sites, including plumbing, painting, electrical work, drywall, and groundskeeping, while coordinating with site leadership and contractors to complete projects and ensure move-in readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping, or related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors/outdoors in varying weather.
• Willingness to travel regionally between Genacross sites and participate in on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across housing sites, including plumbing, painting, basic electrical work, drywall, minor construction, landscaping, trash removal, and groundskeeping.
• Complete maintenance work orders promptly, with a goal of completion within 72 hours
• Prepare and turn over apartments within established timelines to support occupancy and move-in readiness
• Maintain building, grounds, equipment, and required maintenance logs in accordance with applicable safety, regulatory, and funding requirements
• Coordinate with site leadership, vendors, and contractors to support repairs, maintenance projects, purchasing, and property needs
• Provide responsive, resident-focused service while partnering with Site Managers and Service Coordinators to address and appropriately refer resident concerns

Maintenance Technician Requirements:

• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to travel regionally between Genacross sites
• Availability to participate in weekday and occasional weekend on-call coverage
