Job summary

Genacross Lutheran Services is seeking a Groundskeeper to perform general maintenance, groundskeeping, and related tasks across housing sites. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, outdoor work in varying weather, and regional travel between Genacross sites.

Weekday and occasional weekend on-call coverage is expected. The organization offers a range of benefits and emphasizes compassionate, resident-focused service within a faith-based nonprofit framework.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping, or related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to travel regionally between Genacross sites.
• Weekday and occasional weekend on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across housing sites, including plumbing, painting, basic electrical work, drywall, minor construction, landscaping, trash removal, and groundskeeping.
• Complete maintenance work orders promptly, with a goal of completion within 72 hours.
• Prepare and turn over apartments within established timelines to support occupancy and move-in readiness.
• Maintain building, grounds, equipment, and required maintenance logs in accordance with applicable safety, regulatory, and funding requirements.
• Coordinate with site leadership, vendors, and contractors to support repairs, maintenance projects, purchasing, and property needs.
• Provide responsive, resident-focused service while partnering with Site Managers and Service Coordinators to address and appropriately refer resident concerns

Pay: $18-$20/hour
based on experience

• Availability to participate in weekday and occasional weekend on-call coverage
