Job summary

Erickson Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Tech I at Fox Run Village in Novi, Michigan to upkeep residential apartments and public areas on our campus, helping residents live safely and comfortably. Responsibilities include responding to work orders, performing routine and emergency repairs (electrical, plumbing, lighting), HVAC maintenance, painting, and reporting completion.

Requires 2+ years of maintenance experience and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems; able to lift 50

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building or related field.
• Working knowledge of residential building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Clear communication with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to resident maintenance work orders.
• Perform routine and emergency repairs in apartments and public areas (electrical, plumbing, lighting).
• Maintain HVAC equipment, including preventive maintenance.
• Paint/wallcovering in occupied and vacated apartments and maintain common areas.
• Create and close work orders in the system.

How you will make an impact

• Provide prompt responses to resident's maintenance work orders
• Contribute to the General Services' team visibility and reputation for problem solving and enhancing the resident living experience
• Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and community public areas, including electrical malfunctions, repair/replace plumbing and lighting fixtures, and other maintenance needs that arise
• Perform necessary maintenance of HVAC equipment, including scheduled preventive maintenance and responding to emergency calls
• Perform residential painting/wallcovering in occupied and vacated apartments
• Maintain existing paint/wallcoverings in high traffic common areas
• Perform drywall repairs
• Prepare written communications as required to request painting/wallcovering materials and supplies and to report on the completion of each work order
• Create and close work orders on work order system

What you will need

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building setting, or construction-related industry
• Must possess a working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances
• Must have working knowledge of HVAC
• Experience in Home Health environment preferred
• Must be able to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• Be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
