Veolia in the United States is hiring a Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair machinery, install new equipment, and execute preventive maintenance across assigned plant facilities. The role includes on‑call availability, weekend rotation every other month, and travel for field work as required.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus hands‑on experience with PVC plumbing, electrical panelboards, motor controls, and pump repair.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning machinery; install or rearrange equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and keep records.
  • Be on call for emergency repairs to keep plant running.
  • Travel for field repair and installation as needed.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will perform proper diagnosis of any malfunctioning machinery, general repairs, install new equipment and systems, and perform a preventive maintenance program on all assigned machinery as directed by the supervisor.A-B shifts, working on the weekends every other month.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow good housekeeping practices by keeping the maintenance and tool storage area neat and clean, as well as timely cleanup of work area after each job is completed
  • Install new equipment or rearrange existing equipment
  • Be available on call for emergency repairs as needed to keep the plant in good running order
  • Maintain preventative maintenance records and perform preventative maintenance on plant and road equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

Required

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., Home School Certification, or international equivalent to High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year of PVC plumbing, OR mechanical repair and maintenance work experience or training
  • Electrical panelboard experience
  • Motor Controls experience
  • Positive displacement pump repair experience

Preferred

  • Trade school experience for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or mechanical repair is highly desired
  • Electrical Certification
  • At least 1 year of electrical installation, repair, and maintenance work experience, including electronic troubleshooting, PLC programming, and 480V 3 Phase electrical repair and maintenance experience

Working Conditions:

  • Travel for field repair and installation if needed
  • Will perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
  • Will work in a range of environments including but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities

Compensation:
The hourly rate of $26.00-$30.00 is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles.
